a SuRpriSe for the birthday girl...

The night of Brooklin's birthday we headed to Vegas because I had a BIG surprise for both kids. I had got Disney on Ice tickets but didn't tell them... they kept seeing the commercial and wanted to go real bad.
We had dinner at In-n-Out and then made our way to the show. When we pulled up, I told Brooklin we were going to a basketball game. Once we got inside she figured it out and was super excited! Both kids loved the show and Mason was into the Cars part! We had to purchase the Tink and Lightening Mcqueen hats! We got to see Cars, Little Mermaid, Lion King, Tinkerbell and of course Mickey Mouse and the gang!
It was a fun night and everyone enjoyed the show! We had great seats, 3 rows up from the ice. We were all pooped out by the time we got home... Happy Birthday B, hope you had a great day :)

~I'm a BiG girl now~

Yeah!!! Brooklin has finally decided to ride her bike without training wheels. We have tried a couple times before now and she just freaked out but she caught on so quick this time. It has taken her about a week to really get the feel for it but she can start and stop by herself and thinks she's hot stuff! We have taken her bike to my parents so she can ride around the circle. When she first started riding she couldn't stop and she'd take the curb going fast, it was hilarious.
We are so proud of you B... be safe and don't crash!

First day @ Miss Kim

Brooklin is lucky enough to be going to 2 preschools this year! She is going to Miss Kim on Tues & Thurs for 3 hours :) Mason wasn't sure what to do today without B, he wouldn't even eat lunch until she got home at 2. It was really cute when we picked her up, he was in the wagon and waving across the street and yelling her name! Brooklin is excited to be in Miss Kim's class because her buddy Ashlyn and Abbee are in there!

Our Little Mermaid...

Well Brooklin is definitely the swimmer of the family! She loves the water and is always begging to swim at the rec center or grandma's house. She could stay in the pool forever. This year she took swim lessons with aunt Kirst and mom - she did a great job! She can swim the front stroke, elementary backstroke and (big arms). She loves jumping in any way she can, diving for sticks and going down the big slide at the rec and even jumping off the diving board!
We're so proud of you B - keep up the good work!

*Brookelyn and Brooklin* (B thought is was so cool to have 2 Brooklin's in class)!

Music Class

Brooklin took a little music class from Angela these past 2 weeks and loved it! She was so excited to come home and tell us what she had learned for the day. We are so proud of you Brooklin and hopefully you'll turn out to be a little more musically inclined than the rest of the family :)

Any takers???

Brooklin wants a new mommy that is nice :)
She's been saying this the last couple of days and I tell her to go and pack her bags but she never makes it quite that far! I've had a horrible head cold but I've been nice.. I guess not nice enough for B's standards :)

I'm just jotting down a few things Brooklin has said in the last month or so just so I don't forget them!
*Last week I got hit with a ball on my foot and I came home from work and iced it. B came up to me and said, "Mom shake it off!" (This is what Nick has taught them if they get hurt, to shake it off!)

*About a month ago we were shopping in St. George and it was one of those days... well I was fighting to get the kids in the stroller and both of them needed a nap. Brooklin finally turned to me and said, "Mom, I'm gonna kick your ass!" I kept a straight face and just told her that was not nice to say and she felt bad. But I was dying with laughter inside :) I'm not sure where she got that because we don't tell her that...

*Brooklin wants me to put Mason back in my belly because she wants a nice brother. When he starts bugging her she'll say, "Mom, I want Mason back in your belly."

This is more for my memory... A few of Brooklin's favorite things at age 4

cartoon: Tigger & Pooh
toy: yo-yo
place to eat: pizza factory

friends: Sam Woods, Alley & Ashlyn Shaner, Zachary (from school), Jordan Memmott (in gymnastics), Dodger Smith (in primary class)
Wears a 5T in both pants/shirts.

Brooklin loves going to Sunbeams each Sunday and loves to volunteer to say the prayer (continues to bless Charmaine in EVERY prayer she says and she's in doggie heaven for a year now)! She loves school and is learning so much. She is also taking gymnastics and learning so many new tricks. Brooklin enjoys her friends, being outside, reading books, coloring, helping bake cupcakes, eating (b)anilla ice cream. She loves playing at Grandma & Grandpa's house and adores the both of them.

*Happy 4th Birthday BrOOkLiN*

It was Brooklin's 4th birthday yesterday... I can't believe my baby girl is 4 years old. All she wanted for her birthday was Barbie Princess Diamond Castle stuff -- what a headache is was tracking it down! She also got a cupcake maker, cupcake mixes, leapster reading thing, hannah montana purse, dance party mat, a few movies, coloring stuff, clothes and the barbie, prince and horse carriage!
We had a bbq with the family and the Woods family. It was great fun and we appreciate everyone coming over to our house. After presents we had cake and ice cream. I attempted to make a castle cake, as you can see it isn't one of my greatest creations but Brooklin loved it. As I was decorating it she would check on me and say, "Mom you're doing such a great job, I love my cake!"
Brooklin I'm so happy you were brought to our family. I can't imagine life without you - you bring a smile to my face daily. You are so energetic and full of life. You are so strong headed and independent (like your momma)! We love you so much and hope you had a HaPpY 4th BiRtHdaY!

Proud Mama :)

*Brooklin and her buddy Zachary*

*Christmas cookie*

*Singing Jingle Bells (she use to sing Dingle Bells)

*Mason getting in on the cookie action (we can't pass up a cookie)*

Today was Brooklin's little Christmas program at school and they sang 2 songs: Jingle Bells and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. She did a great job, she's been practicing for a few weeks now! After singing she had a little party and Mason was able to join in the fun - he thinks he's sooo BiG! Thanks Grandma for coming to listen...
**Just a little side note - I think Nevada had it's first ever SNOW DAY, no school. Las Vegas had record setting snowfall and since we're part of Clark County, the kids stayed home today. Pretty Crazy**

Brooklin's FiRsT trip to the DeNtiSt

What an adventure this was.... I had mentioned to her last week that she'd be going to the dentist and she just started crying and begging not to go. Well the day had arrived and the anxiety was flowing... from the second I mentioned we were going, she had alligator tears and very against going. But we went and a huge ThAnK yOu to ChRiSsY and MeSqUiTe DeNtaL for enduring the screaming and tears while we were there. I ended up having to sit in the chair and held her hands and head, she calmed down after a bit but Oh My Drama Mama!!! Her teeth looked good and she got a new princess toothbrush and was able to pick a toy from the treasure chest. Great Job Brooklin for being a brave little girl - Keep brushing your teeth!!!

Soccer Chaos...

Brooklin started soccer this week... what chaos! It was a great laugh for the evening, a bunch of 3 year olds running around trying to kick the ball around! They play two 15 min halfs and by the end of the last half Brooklin was done running around and she sat on the sideline. Hopefully it will get a little better in the coming weeks!!!! Great Job B :)

*Sam * Brooklin*

*Ashlyn * Brooklin * Alley*

*My little monster*

Last night Brooklin cheered at half time of the football game. Yes, you heard me she ChEeReD. I wasn't sure if she would actually cheer but she did great! It was pretty cute and she was so proud of herself! When I picked her up after the cheer she said, "Mom, I did it - I did the dance!" Sam even stayed home from hunting to watch Brooklin dance! How sweet huh?
We have had fun watching the football games this year. Brooklin and I usually go up and she plays with Alley, Ashlyn, Sam and whoever else she can find. It gets me out of the house and I usually find someone to talk too! Mason just runs everywhere so Nick volunteers to stay home with him, which is better than chasing him!
Go BuLLdOgS!

*1st day of Preschool*

*Brooklin and Miss Starla*

*Brooklin * Ashlyn*

Brooklin started at the Sunshine Preschool today and she did great! I dropped her off and she was good to go. I need it to be longer than 1 1/2 hours, that just isn't long enough! We were bummed that her little friend Ashlyn wasn't in her class but she said they played together outside so she was happy!
Brooklin also started a little dance class today. She looked so cute in her little outfit (no pic but I'll get one)! She was excited to see her little friend Alyssa from her preschool last year. Anyhow, she did fine and after a half hour she was done, sat down and didn't want to participate! I don't know what her deal was... I was trying to avoid the dancing as long as possible but this will be good for her. Hopefully she'll get a little more excited and become a DaNcInG qUeEn!!!
