We just got back from our 2nd Annual Lake Powell trip and we had a BLAST! We were pulling out of town Thurs (Aug 4th) at 6:06am! Once we got on the lake it took us awhile to find a beach since the water has risen so much -- after much searching we found the perfect spot! There was a 20% chance of rain that night and we got the 20%... it wasn't too bad, just a few dashes to the tent to hide out and have a dance party for awhile!
On Friday we decided to head to Rainbow Bridge but lost half our group so only 2 boats made it that far, us and Graves! We made the 1/4 mile walk to see it, took our picture and back down to the dock.. Both boats were low on gas so we headed back to Dangling Rope where we ran out of gas a mile before getting there - luckily Captain Trent gave us a tow and we both made it!
Today was Keri's 40th birthday so we celebrated that night with homemade oreo's and minute to win it games! We had so much fun and laughed so hard on most of the games - it was classic!!!
Saturday we went cliff jumping and of course all the men searched out the 70ft which none of them jumped off of... Kirstin had to step up to the plate and jump - I really can't believe she did it! When she hit the water she said her knee buckled and tweaked and after the 5 mile hike we went on didn't help her (she saw Dr. Parry when we got back and she tore her MCL on her right knee = brace for 6-8 weeks and a 3 month recovery). We also went on a little hike this day - the guy said it was about a mile which ended up being about 5 total but it was beautiful! All 29 of us did it - we had to truck thru water, climb on rocks, avoid the dead frogs... it was AWESOME!
Everyday was full of tube wars, wakeboarding, skiing, cliff jumping and kneeboarding - both Brooklin and Mason got up on the kneeboard and loved it! I also kneeboarded and busted out a few 360's and I skiied for my one minute!
Sunday we got up and messed around for a few hours and then started to pack up :( We had a great time but I'm getting too old for this camping business. I was ready for a shower and a real bed!
Thanks for a fun weekend Laub's, Bohne's, Graves, Ludvigson's and Kirstin --- can't wait for next year!
