CowBoys in Training!

Before heading up to Tremonton for the rest of the week, we met Grandpa Gene and Grandma Karen for breakfast! It's always nice to visit with them although my kids were out of control! Grandpa gave them these little boxing gloves, so they felt the need to punch everyone and try taking Grandpa out! We love you guys :)

After breakfast we were on our way so we could play with Jackson and Addi! The kids were super excited to see each other - Jacks and Mas were pretty much hooked at the hip the rest of the week. We arrived up there Thursday afternoon and the kiddos just played until Kasey got home then we went to a park and ate the best pizza ever. Kasey had arranged for the kids to go ride a horse that evening so after dinner we went to do that! Mason rode on Sticks and Brooklin rode Silver, they loved riding the horse! Jackson rode with both of them and we tried putting Addi on one but she wanted nothing to do with it!

Alyssa's Wedding...

We were so happy to be able to join Alyssa and Jeremy on their special day! They got married August 18th, so we left Tues night after work. Alyssa had asked Brooklin to be her flower girl and she was thrilled! Everything looked so awesome, Shane & Kathleen did an amazing job on their yard and getting it all together. The weather even cooperated for the most part, a few sprinkles and a minor down pour but all in all it was a beautiful day.
It's so crazy to me that Alyssa is getting married! I babysat her when she was just a babe then when I got married she was my flower girl and now Brooklin was her flower girl... I wish her and Jeremy the best!

LoVin' LaKe PoWeLL

What a FABULOUS few days we spent in Lake Powell! We left Thurs morning (12th), stopped in St. George to pick up Kirstin & Amy and headed for the lake. We got out there and tried finding a spot in a canyon but the houseboats had taken over... so we found a nice sandy beach on the main channel and it was perfect for our crew! We just set up camp and ate dinner and messed around a little bit before going to bed.

On Friday we checked out a few of the canyons -- Mountain Sheep Canyon, we went cliff jumping and had lunch here. We stopped at Dangling Rope Marina for ice cream and gas then made our way to Rainbow Bridge! Mason was excited to get there but when he saw the bridge he just asked, "Where's the rainbow???" On our way back to camp we stopped at Cathedral Canyon and did some more cliff jumping and fishing. We stopped at Dangling Rope again for ice and topping off with gas before heading for camp! Kirstin was the Queen Smore Maker this night - she is the bomb diggity!

Saturday we hit West Canyon, in hopes to find a waterfall but no such luck! The water was glass today so I finally decided to try skiing! I got up for my 30 sec and proved to myself I could still get up.

Sunday we did some last minute skiing, tubing before packing up and heading home. We had a total of 3 flat tires on the way home - Trent had 2 and we got one.

We had so much fun and will take advantage of being close to Lake Powell! I love that place, it's a little piece of heaven on water :)

It was my first day off in 6 weeks since swimming lessons are over and what better way to celebrate than Cafe Rio, the splash park and friends??? Thanks for a really fun day girls :)

Family Night Fun

Monday and Wednesday nights the rec center pool is open to families. Last year I think we hit it every night but this year we have been hit and miss. The kids love going down the slide and jumping off the board.. Brooklin is doing so well swimming this year, she took lessons and she can do the front/back stroke, breast stroke, elementary backstroke and can dive fairly well. Mason is also doing great (should be after 6 weeks of lessons) he can swim like a little fish and even attempts the elementary backstroke (he practices on the floor at home). Here are a few pics of my little fishies :)

Mason's visit to the dentist!

On Monday Mason had his first cleaning appt with Chrissy. He did great, was total opposite of Brooklin the first time (she was screaming and I had to hold her and pry her mouth open)! Mason sat in the chair and opened right up to let Chrissy look at his teeth. He got a little hesitant when she was going to polish them so he covered his eyes but opened his mouth. Then Dr. Morris came in and he was not going to open his mouth for anything... little stinker! All in all he did great and I was proud of him :) Good Job Mason on being such a big boy!

Friday was my mom's birthday! The kids baked her a cake on Thursday night to celebrate because she'd be gone Friday. Brooklin couldn't find anything to put on the cake so she found her princess tamborine for the centerpiece! We hope you had a fun day mom/grandma!
We love you so much and we're so blessed to have you in our lives. You do so much for our family and the kids absolutely adore you! Thank you for always helping out with the kids and doing such fun things with us. Happy Birthday MOM!
