Brooklin wanted to go to Salt Lake so badly but when she found out she made the finals to compete for the Skipper of the School she decided to stay home. I left Nick with strict instruction to take video and snap a few pics - he did a great job! And so did Brooklin... she's been practicing for a few weeks now and I'm so proud of her. She ended up taking 5th out of 35 1st graders and she jumped for 5-5 1/2 mins (not sure on the exact time). Brooklin was just happy she won a Powerade drink!!!!

funeral weekend/basketball/sister fun

Mason and I headed north with my parents for Uncle Don's funeral. It was such a nice service and a great tribute to him. He was such a happy guy and whenever I'd see him he'd insist on a hug and kiss and usually say, "How ya doin' hun or sweetheart?" He will be missed greatly.
It was also nice to see all of our extended family. Unfortunely for us the only time we usually see everyone is at a funeral since we're unable to make it up for all the other family functions. I enjoyed visiting with all my 2nd cousins (we seriously need to plan a trip)!!!!

After the funeral, we headed back to Grandma Winters for some lunch and some down time. We were going to head to Morgan to watch Kasey coach his team!!!! Well they played a great 1st qtr and tried to fight back but they came up short.... It was still fun to see Kasey in his element - he can't sit still and is always pacing.
After the game was over my parents and Mason headed to Tremonton to play for the rest of the weekend and see their new house. I opted to stay in Salt Lake with Kirstin and have some sister time!!! We didn't do much but I did get a new SMART phone and we walked around at the Gateway and saw a movie.. Thanks for the fun weekend Kirst - love ya :)

1939-2012
Our Hero
Don R. Fullmer passed away January 28, 2012 due to

complications from Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.
Don was born February 21, 1939 in Murray, Utah to Mary and Lawrence

"Tuff" Fullmer. He graduated from Jordan High School in 1957 where he excelled in many sports. He married his childhood sweetheart and best friend Nedra Forman in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived their whole life in South Jordan and were blessed with five boys. Don loved boxing and started fighting at the age of five. He ended with an amateur record of 65-0. Don turned pro in August of 1957 and boxed professionally for 16 years compiling a record of 54-20 with 5 draws. Don won the American Middleweight Championship in April of 1967. Don fought for the World Middleweight Championship in December of 1968 and came up just short of his dream. Don has been Vice President of Rocky Mountain Golden Gloves since 1962. He loved working with the young boxers, teaching them the sport he so dearly loved, alongside his brothers at the Fullmer's Boxing Gym.

Don was inducted into the Utah Summer Games Hall of Fame in 1991 and into the Utah Sports Hall of Fame in 2001. He was inducted into the National Golden Gloves Hall of Fame in 2007.

Don joined the Salt Lake County Fire Department in 1973 and worked 27 years for them where he made many lifelong friends. He was also a very talented brick mason.

Don was an active member of the LDS church and had many callings. He was always willing to help anyone in need. Don loved his boys and never missed watching any of their sporting events. He loved hunting and fishing and spent many days with his sons in the field.

Don is survived by his wife Nedra and five sons, Larry (Claudia), Brad (Marcie), Troy (Janet), Hud (Brenda), and Kade, 15 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren (soon to be seven), brothers Gene (Karen) and Jay (Marilyn). He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Colleen Tyson.

The family wishes to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff for helping during this difficult time, especially Rocky Mountain Hospice.

A viewing will be held Thursday, February 2nd from 6-8 pm at the South Jordan 7th Ward Chapel, 2200 West 9750 South. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 3rd at 11:00 am at the South Jordan Stake Center, 2450 West 10400 South with a viewing prior to the services from 9:30-10:45 am. Interment, South Jordan City Cemetery.

Over Thanksgiving my grandparents had a little give away in their basement. My mom and her siblings met first to take turns choosing items they wanted and whatever was left over the grandkids got a chance to take. When the grandkids got together, I didn't really have my eye on anything in particular - I had chose a little wooden stool my Grandma Dolores had painted on because I remember using it as a child. Then I had gotten a headboard that was my Grandpa Gene and Grandma Dolores' - I thought I could refinish that for Brooklin.
Well I finally got it down here a couple weeks before her birthday and got to work! She knew it was for her and was very excited... I think it turned out great, I'll have to take pics when we get her room put together!

My sweet Brooklin turned 7 yesterday!

I can't believe how fast time has flown by..

Brooklin is such a sweet girl, full of personality.

She is turning into such a young lady

and I don't know if I'm ready for that.

On Friday she took rainbow cupcakes to school.

And when I asked her what she wanted to do to

celebrate, she said, "Go shopping at the mall!"

She is so not a shopper so I was surprised at

this response but jumped all over it!

So we had a girls day with Grandma Karen, Grandma Kaye,

and Auntie Kirst drove down from Salt Lake to have fun!

It's been quite boring around our house since the new year - not much happening! This past weekend my dad took Mason with him up to Tremonton. They left Thurs morning and got back Sunday evening, our house was so quiet, no fighting - it was weird. I think Brooklin even started to miss her little brother cuz she started asking when he'd be home.
We went and walked around the car show Sunday - should've went on Saturday so we could see more cars. But it was fun and Brooklin thought they were pretty cool.
We went up to my parents on Sunday to get Mason and had dinner with my grandparents. I'm so happy to have my little guy home - now it's constant giggles or fighting or something!!!!

I'm not really sure how I got talked into running a 5k but I did and I finished! I didn't think it would be too bad since Shannon said she would walk/run it... Well we got started and she never stopped running!!! I honestly hate running - anyone who knows me, knows I do not run. Maybe that's why I love softball, not much running involved!
Anyhow, as we started running this morning we headed down Riverside Road and then towards Scenic on pavement. The turn around spot was supposed to be when the pavement ends (which I thought was way to far in the first place)! So we hit the sign "Pavement Ends" and everyone keeps running - for another mile.... Seriously! We finally reach the turn around spot not knowing we went the extra distance until one of the 10k people informed us... Holy Smokes - I don't run and I didn't train for this but now I'm running 5.4 miles to be exact.
Long story short, I made it in 1:01:16... I'm still alive and my calves are burning!!! It was a nice little jaunt this morning and I'm happy I did it and finished... I still hate running but I wouldn't mind doing a real 5k every once in awhile!!!

Mason has been wrestling on Mon, Wed & Thurs nights.

It wipes him out and obviously this was one of those nights!

I was quite hesitant to let him wrestling, coming from a family

of height and basketball. But he loves it and he's learning a lot.

He just does the practices for now, maybe next year he'll try

a couple meets. It wears him out and he gets some energy out!

I guess he can wrestle for now but I'm secretly hoping he turns

into a basketball player :)

After spending the day 4 wheeling we came home and got all cleaned up and then headed to my parents house to party! Nick stayed home to go play poker (usually does this every year)... We had pizza for dinner and ate a lot of caramel popcorn! We played Disney Headbands, a cupcake matching game and what's a party without minute to win it!!!! It was a fun night spent with family and great friends :)

I swear, we can not go 4 wheeling without having some kind of problem! Everytime we go, something goes wrong but someone can usually fix it. We were so excited for the nice weather cuz Monday we planned on going for a long ride with the entire gang. There was my parents, Kasey, Meridee, Jackson & Addi, Teri, Cody & Josh and our family.
Anyhow, we headed out around 11am towards Lime Kiln and got to the red rocks where the kids climbed all over. We made a fire and roasted hot dogs for lunch, some of them shot guns, we were having a great time! We decided we better get going and we were on our way to wherever we were going next (still not sure where that was)! My parents and our 2 nephews were ahead of us and we got going and the belt broke and we stopped. We thought they'd turn around but never did so Nick and Teri headed back to get the truck and trailer. So Kasey, Meridee, Brooklin, Mason, Addi and myself just hung out for about an hour and a half waiting.... the sun was going to set behind the mountain soon - luckily we had the matches and some gasoline so Kasey started a fire for us. Finally the boys and my parents showed up and we exchanged stories (they had seen some guys that passed us and they told them we were somewhere completely different) and 5 mins later Nick and Teri showed up. By this time it's dark and cold! The kids, my mom, Nick, Teri and myself pile in the truck and head to Whitney Pockets so we can come home on pavement while the others just head back. We hit pavement and Nick checked the tie downs and everything looked good... 5 mins later, he looked behind and said, "The ranger is gone, it's not on the trailer." Teri and I were like shut up, what are you talking about. They got out and couldn't find it on the road and Teri just happened to catch one of the reflectors and it was probably 200-250 ft off the road, standing upright. I couldn't believe it! We called my dad and they headed out with his truck and trailer in the meantime, 2 guys stopped to help us. They helped roll it up on the trailer so we could get it tied down and on our way. We finally made it home in one piece!
Seriously, it was such a crazy day! But we had a good time despite a few mishaps!! If you ever want an adventure when you go 4 wheelin, just give us a call :)

My parents church was at 9am so we needed to get an early start! We thought the kids would be up bright and early but they were still sound asleep at 7.... I cranked up "I Believe in Santa Claus" and soon everyone was coming out of the woodworks!
It was so fun to be with family and see how excited the kids were! We let them open the Santa gifts and play with them and then we got ready for church. I had to make a quick trip back to Mesquite since I left the biscuts sitting in the freezer and nothing was open. So I was late to church but I made pretty good time ( I realized this at 2:30am and Nick wouldn't let me go then)!
We came home and Nick fixed biscuts & gravy and my mom made an apple french toast. By this time the kids were ready to open PrEsEnTs!!! We were all spoiled and once again my mom made it special for everyone and did way too much... Here's a list of what we got from everyone, including Santa:

Nick: a jar of money that said "ipad fund", a drill, tie, swimming suit, ac/dc for guitar hero, and an angry birds shirt
Steph: a kindle fire, money, gift cards, a watch, itunes card, a book, coke stuff, a blanket, a cute turtle necklace and a new griddle pan.
Brooklin: a bike, lalaloopsy doll, bike helmet, litte crafty things, clothes, a crayon maker, sorry slide, purple boots, golf clubs and other odds and ends.
Mason: a train table, glow dome, monster truck, clothes, hat, tie, golf clubs, operation mater, spin art, marshmellow gun, and other odds and ends.

And we gave the kids a DISNEY CRUISE we're taking in Feb!!! We are so excited and we've been keeping it a secret for a few months now... We're going with Tietjen's and Woods! The kids were pretty stoked and have been asking how many days until we leave - maybe I'll be able to bribe them for a few more months to be good!!!! My mom had gone to Disneyland with the school a week before Christmas - so I had made a sign that said "Pack your bags, you're going a CRUISE!!!" I sent that with her and told her her only task was to get a picture with any character holding that sign. She did a great job and got one with Cinderella, Pluto, Mickey and Santa -- she said everyone standing around thought it was so cool. So thanks mom for being a sport and carrying a sign around Disneyland!

was a busy, busy day!!! We got up and started getting ready for the festivities to start that afternoon. What better way to put you in the christmas spirit than with a little Kenny & Dolly Christmas, David Archuletta, Mariah Carey and Celine... we had quite the dance party taking place!

My mom always puts on such a nice dinner and goes all out! We had appetizers, clam chowder or potato soup, ham, rolls, potato salad and I made an enchilada soup. Dessert was oreos, apple pie and vanilla ice cream!
My grandma and grandpa came over (since they are living in St. George for a few months) and joined in the fun. The kids did the nativity, minus Mason (he crashed) and Addi wouldn't participate so Kasey took one for the team and stood in as the angel! The kids had been begging my mom to open a present so she let them open one and then they opened their jammies. The bigger kids got to open the sibling gifts and Meridee gave me a super cute bag her friend made (I'll have to take a pic).
The night was just getting started - my family felt the need to torture me and pick on me so they pulled out all my old dancing videos and moments of attitude and watched them for the rest of the night! It was such a fun filled evening...
Then we headed to bed so Santa could make his way to grandpa and grandma's house!

I had to work on Friday and I met Nick, the kids, Teri & her family for lunch and then the kids and I headed to St. George. We were going to see the movie "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked" - it was not my 1st choice in movies but the kids loved it! After the movie we ordered pizza and headed back to my parents for a night of playing disney headbands. Addi was so funny while we played the game - we couldn't let her see the card cuz she'd totally tell us who the picture was! The kids were so excited to see Addi and Jackson - they just run around the entire time they're together!

This year Brooklin is trying basketball for the first time. She told me she wanted to play basketball like her uncle Kasey!!! It's been fun watching her play - we need to work on a little aggressiveness but the skills will come. I'm so happy she is doing her best and having fun too!

Today was the day Brooklin's 2nd loose tooth was coming out!

The first one was quite comical so I knew we were in for

a treat... During lunch she bit down on her tooth

wrong and it really started to hurt.

So after lunch the drama began... It was a huge

ordeal and Mason got it all on video!

After 20-25 mins, the tooth came out

and life is back to normal...

My aunt and uncle had been staying at my mom's the weekend we went to Richfield so that Sunday we had dinner. My Grandma Karen and Grandpa Gene are staying in St. George for 3 months so we had everyone over to my parents house.
We're going to miss Marianne, Rick and Quinn as they head back to Alaska. It's been fun spending so much time with them this past month! We love you so much...

The first weekend in December Mason and I tagged along with my parents to watch Kasey's basketball team. Brooklin didn't want to miss school (PE or her spelling test) on Friday so she stayed home with dad and they went to the Muppets.
Kasey's team played Desert Hills Friday and got beat by 30. We headed back to the hotel which had a pool so the kiddos went swimming. We hadn't brought our suits with us so Mason improvised and wore his boxer briefs! We only had to save Jackson once from drowning and Addi a couple times :)
Saturday they played Hurricane and beat them in double OT - it was an awesome game! His boys did a great job and hopefully they will have a successful season.
It was pretty much snowing and quite coldy both days we were there... So glad I live in the sunshine!!!

We headed back home on Friday so we could spend some time with Teri and her family since they came down to AZ for the holiday. Today we went on a little 4 wheeler ride and the weather was perfect!!! We went through the gorge on a dirt road and ended up at Cedar Pockets where we ate lunch and walked along the river. The scenery was beautiful, who needs the Grand Canyon when you have the gorge! Thanks for a fun day Teri, Josh & Cody...

black friday baby!!!

I really had mixed feelings this year about black friday - as most of you know, I live for this day! It's better than my birthday and I save up all year to shop my little heart out. Well the thrill was always scoping out the ads on Thanksgiving night and maybe getting a few hours of sleep before waking up to stand in line at 2 or 3am. Since all the stores were opening at midnight, we were in line by 10pm at Target. Kirst was protesting this year so Kasey tagged along to help us get a PS3 for our other cousin. He had so much fun with us when we got done with a few stores, he woke Nick up and they headed to Cabella's (of course the men will go when they want something for themselves)!
Anyhow, we had a great time and got everything we wanted plus some! Meridee and my mom came along for a little bit and then they headed home to sleep. Well I never went to sleep and just made my way to every store there was!
I had a great time and enjoyed myself satisfying my little shopping fix! Here's to another successful year at black friday shopping :)

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I know I wasn't too happy about driving back up to Salt Lake but I'm so happy we made the trip. It was so nice to be together as an entire family (my mom's side). It was probably the first time in years that we've all been together. We had dinner at DeLaun & Vicki's house and it was perfect - we Fullmer's know how to eat so the food is always wonderful. Sharley did a great job with little activities for us - we made a thankful tree and had to write something about a person at the table. Later in the evening we had Kim come over to take pictures - THANK YOU so much for doing that for us, we appreciate you taking time out of your Thanksgiving for us!
I'm grateful for so many things... my kids who truly brighten my day everyday, Nick for working so hard for our family, my parents who show us so much love, Kirstin for being the greatest sister ever, Kasey & his cute family, all my extended family, our good health, our little house, our great jobs, food on the table and a good life!!!

Utah Sports Hall of Fame

A few months ago, my grandma had asked if we wanted to make the trip up north to attend the Utah Sports Hall of Fame - Jerry Sloan was being inducted. We jumped at the chance to attend since we've never had the opportunity to attend, the only problem was it was on a Wednesday. My mom volunteered to stay home and help with the kids so Nick and I could go up along with my dad.
Wednesday morning we headed north - we had to unload a trailer full of Kirstin's stuff since she was moving into her new townhouse. We got that done and got ready for the big shin-dig!
The banquet was held at the Energy Solutions Arena down on the main floor. We weren't sure what to expect so when we got there we just hung out and looked at pictures then we started seeing all the famous people coming in! The first hour was a mingling session - shaking hands, small chit chat and getting pictures - we got pics with Mark Eaton (he was a giant), Jeff Hornacek, Jerry Sloan, Phil Johnson, Natalie Williams, Rod Zundel (channel 5 sportscaster), the Jazz Bear (was crazy), and Tyrone Corbin.

After the meet and greet we got settled into our table which was front and center. We looked over and saw John Stockton standing there - Kasey was like a little kid in a candy store! We had a delicious turkey dinner and enjoyed watching people come up to grandpa to shake his hand or get a picture with him. All the old ladies loved him!!!

So during dinner, Kasey just couldn't contain himself... I could see this little grin on his face throughout dinner. He had brought a jersey to try and get signed by Stockton (we heard he's not a fan of signing things) - well Kasey went to the restroom so we told Kirst just go ask him to sign it. She was nervous and usually she's game for anything. Pretty soon she got up and walked right over to Stockton and came back with a signed jersey!!!

Frank Layden was the master of ceremonies and he was such a crack up! I really enjoyed listening to him and his stories. Here are the inductees of 2011: Annette Ausseresses - softball, Phil Johnson - basketball, Natalie Williams - basketball/volleyball, Doug Toole - football official and Jerry Sloan - baskeball.

My cute grandpa is one of the 2 living original inductees from 1970. He would stand and give his wave to the audience whenever his name was called. It was such an honor to be there with him and see how many people still come up to him and call him "The Champ!"
After dinner we took a b-line to meet John Stockton and get a picture with him. He was really nice and Kasey finally got his picture taken with his basketball idol.

So I totally had to put this picture on here to have proof that I actually wore high heels!!! I never wear heels, let alone own any. I had to borrow these from Kirst so I looked dressed up... I was just prayin I didn't break an ankle that night. By the end of the night, they were off and I was running across the street bare foot!

Thanks Grandma & Grandpa for letting us have the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful evening . We really had a great time and I'm so honored to have such an AMAZING grandpa!

Nick just finished up his season with the 7th grade football team. They only lost one game this season and that was to Desert Hills. They had a great season and Nick really enjoys coaching the boys. They played for the championship game last night against Desert Hills - we ended up losing 20-6. The boys can't be too bummed they had won the last 4 championships and they played really hard but it just didn't happen in our favor last night. They were able to play at Dixie College again in the stadium so that was pretty cool!

Brooklin has been wanting to lose her first tooth for months now... Her 2 bottom middle teeth have pretty much been growing up behind her baby teeth and her baby teeth were not budging! They were solid and the dentist said to wiggle them and one day her one was super loose. It was quite the ordeal getting it out - I told her to let me feel it and just let me try pulling it out... after 20 minutes she finally let me into her mouth and it came right out! Then she had a freak out cuz there was blood.... Holy cow!
She left her tooth under her pillow and the tooth fairy left $2 and some purple pixie dust!
We did take her into the dentist the next day cuz I'd had the appt for a month and he said her teeth are solid and she'll more than likely need braces - poor girl didn't have a chance with her parents teeth!

This past weekend was pretty busy but I'm not sure we'd know what to do with ourselves if we weren't busy! Friday afternoon the kids and I headed to my parents for a sleepover - my cousin Sharley and her family stayed the night on their way to Disneyland. So the kids were able to play and they had a blast with each other. We ate pizza for dinner and had a nice time visiting!
Saturday I played in a softball tourney in St. George and it was freezing cold all day, the wind wouldn't stop blowing. But we won so I guess it was worth it!!! Then we headed home for Nick's 7th grade playoff game which they won. So they are headed to the championship game next Saturday and if they win, it will be 5 straight titles!
After the game we rushed home because my friend from college was coming to stay until Monday morning. We were able to go to dinner that night and get all caught up on each others lives and then headed home. Sunday we watched football and was lazy for pretty much the entire day but it was good. Davina met the kids for the first time and she was probably ready to get out of here! They were pretty funny - days before I told them she was coming to stay so everyday they would ask if my friend was coming today!
Thanks for driving a bit out of your way to come stay with us Davina! It was almost like the good ole days with the exception of having 2 kids, being old and not being able to stay up til the wee hours of the morning!

This post should've been done long ago but I've been putting it off.... The kids had a blast this year playing football. Nick coached each of their teams and I think his patience got tried with Mason's little team but it's good for him! The both did a great job pulling flags, running, making touchdowns and socializing with friends :) I really enjoy watching them play and get excited to see how proud they are when they pulled a flag or made a touchdown!

Both kiddos had Halloween parties at school today.

We had a long weekend since Brooklin was out of school Thursday and Friday.. So the kids and I headed north with my parents and we ended up in Tremonton! We had a party every night :) We made pizzas, decorated cookies, had halloween games, celebrated Addi's 2nd birthday, the girls snuck away to shop in Logan, the guys went hunting - it was a busy weekend!

Today the kids had their primary program. They both did a great job doing their parts and singing all the songs! Mason had his part memorized so well:

Saturday afternoon we headed up to Staheli Farm/Pumpkin Patch. The kids have been wanting to go find a pumpkin - except for Brooklin cuz she's getting hers at the pumpkin run on Wed! The kids played around on all the slides, rides and jumpy things, petting animals, rode the cow train and then we took our tractor ride to find the perfect pumpkins!

Yes, this girls night out was much needed and we took full advantage of having some FuN! Christina, Staci, Robin, Juwlz and myself loaded up Friday night and headed to St. George. We browsed around Target for a minute and then made our way to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. Sneaky Christina told the waitress it was my birthday so I got to ride the saddle! After dinner we needed to walk around for a little bit so we went to Dillard's for a few minutes but those pictures aren't making the blog :) Anti Gravity was next on the list and we had a BLAST! We topped the night off with Krave and then headed home... It was a great night and I definitely think we need to make it a monthly outing for sure :)

Today Mason and I did a Costco run... We stopped for lunch at In and Out!!! He thought it was pretty cool he got a spiffy new hat. As we were walking to the car he said, "Mom that was the best lunch date ever!" It was pretty cute... He's my little sidekick and I'm so happy we got to spend the day together. He loves Costco so that's a bonus too!!!

Last month we went to Hurricane for Nick's football team - we didn't want to sit in the stands while their team warmed up so we headed to the park! It wa a fun park with a splash pad, swings and all the playground equipment!

As much as I didn't want Brooklin to do mini cheer - I let her! I figure she can get it out of her system while she's younger so she can play sports in high school :) Oh well, she had a great time and looked pretty cute out there on the track. Great Job B!
Mason was begging me to do it all day Monday - he brought a paper home from school and kept telling me, "My teacher said I can do it!" He really had his heart set on cheering but I had to draw the line somewhere... And after he saw all the girls and no boys he was good with not cheering!

My brother Kasey has been training to run in the marathon and he did awesome!! We're so proud of him and this huge accomplishment. We loved cheering him on although we missed him cross the finish line (no parking and hungry kids). His little timer thing broke so he doesn't know his official time but it was around 4:35. We had shirts made to show our support and the kids all made signs to hold up when we saw him.

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother slipped away from this mortal existence very peacefully into the arms of her heavenly family who had preceded her in leaving this life. Her beautiful voice has joined the choirs in heaven and her paintings will decorate heavenly homes. Her crochet work will win many more blue ribbons. We will greatly miss you mom and grandma. We feel empty without your presence. We love you. Ida Bair Griffin was born on September 20, 1918 in Alpine, UT to Clyde and Birdie Lee Hall Bair, and passed away peacefully in Sandy, UT on September 24, 2011. Ida served an LDS mission in Billings, Montana in 1971. Ida was married and sealed to Stanley Gates Griffin in the Salt Lake LDS temple on September 20, 1973. Ida was a very talented woman. She was an avid oil painter and singer. She appeared on many television shows in her younger years and belonged to the Singing Mothers group through the tabernacle choir. Ida was also offered a position from Walt Disney Studios in the early days when she was only 14 years old because of her artistic abilities. Ida had many talents including crocheting, knitting, and making dolls. Ida worked in the LDS distribution center sewing garments for many years. Ida is survived by daughters Geraldine Bailey (Larry), Neva Colleen Winther (Joseph), Patricia Johnson, son David Gamingasco, brother Elvin, and many grandchildren and many more great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Stanley Griffin, daughter Joy Lee Smart, twin sister Clyda, and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Union Ft. 2nd Ward 7155 S. 540 E Midvale, UT on Friday September 30, 2011 at 12:00 noon. A viewing will be held the same day at 11:00am. Burial will take place at Elysian Burial Gardens.

she's still got it - crochets perfectly!

My sweet great grandma passed away Sept 24th at the age of 93. She was such a talented lady with a wonderful personality. She was quite crafty - always making us dolls (material or porcelin) for Christmas when I was younger, crocheting afagans, table runners, doylies, and was an amazing artist!
She was a spunky little thing and so full of life! After we moved to Mesquite, everytime we went to visit she would cry when we'd leave and she'd always say she wouldn't see us again (she's been saying that since my dad went on his mission way back when)... Such a silly grandma! She's in love with Nick cuz he reminds her of an old dance partner or love interest - she always had the biggest smile when she saw him.
I love you Grandma and I'm really going to miss her. She has left a great legacy for us to follow!

A few things I want to remember about grandma:
- she could yodol so well
- she was always painting something or doing a portrait of someone
- she always tried giving us something (a doll, toy, something she made) when we came to visit
- her smile was contagious
- her longer hair
- crying when we'd leave her house

A few weekends ago we headed to Cedar Mountain with my work for a little overnighter at an awesome cabin! We got up there for dinner on Friday night and just hung out and busted out the Minute to Win It games!
Saturday morning we got up and headed over to Panguitch Lake for some fishing! I'm so not into fishing but the kids loved it. Poor Brooklin tried all morning to catch one and never got lucky - next time B!

We made it about 10 minutes and then Mason was being super silly -- I'm sure our family pictures will be an adventure next month!!! Today was a chill day and it felt pretty dang good!!! Nick had his first football game in Cedar and I wasn't too thrilled about sitting in Cedar City all day - so the kids and I opted to stay home. We went to the ball field to hit balls, rode bikes, made pizza, baked cookies, cleaned rooms and played in the backyard!! These pictures crack me up, they started out jumping on the tramp with the sprinklers underneath... then they moved to the slide with the hose!

The kids and I stayed up at my parents all weekend so we wouldn't be driving back and forth. We basically hung out all weekend and ate good food and watched the kiddos run around. Before they left today, it started to sprinkle. So my mom pulled out all her umbrellas and the kids played in the rain! We had a fun weekend and can't wait til the next one :)

So my parents have a huge hill behind them that the kids love to climb on - Sunday morning we headed to the top to look over the edge. We could see all of Bloomington and the kids loved looking at the river and pointing out the people walking or riding their bikes down by the river on the trail.

My brother and sister came down for the long weekend so we decided to hit the lake one last time! We went to Sand Hollow and had a great time - the weather was perfect, not too hot. We did the knee board, even Papa got out there and tried it... We can't remember the last time my dad actually got in the water, let alone behind the boat on something! Mason wanted to jump off the cliffs so we did that for a little bit too! We had a blast with everyone and happy we got to take the boat out one last time!

So I had seen these little creations on a few blogs (http://www.bluecricketdesign.net/2009/07/school-years.html) and thought I better give it a try! I love them and I feel so organized :) My kids love saving everything and I always get in trouble for throwing their masterpieces in the garbage. Well I do keep a few things and I just stash them away in a box - well here's my answer!
I just bought the $3 crates at Walmart and some ribbon, used my cricut to cut their names out in vinyl and labeled the file folders according to each grade. And I'll add ones for sports and such as it comes along. I may even include a picture of them on their first day of school but I can't promise that will happen every year :)

Yesterday we headed to Sand Hollow since this will prob be our last free Saturday for awhile (Nick is coaching football again)! We invited the Price's and Dalton's to join in the fun... Our day didn't start out too early but we definitely made a day out of it! The kids loved playing in the mud - covering themselves and making their skin so soft. Mason covered my legs and said he was making my skin skinny - ha, I wish it was that easy!!!
The water was quite rough but we tried to knee board and that didn't last long. Tubing and cliff jumping the the hit of the day. We stayed until dark and my kids were asleep before we got out of the park! Thanks for spending the day with us Price family, Robin & Rylan :)

Friday the kids and I headed to Salt Lake with my dad for a Winters get together on Saturday. My mom wasn't feeling well so she stayed home and Nick had a football meeting. We stayed at Mark, Jody and Hailey's house and the kids had a blast. They loved the hot tub and the big pool (above the ground)!
Saturday morning Kirst and I hit the mall for a couple things and then headed back to Mark's until the party. Can't shop when you have no money and Kirst was gimping around with her crutch!!!
It was really nice to see everyone at Grandma's house, almost everyone was there - missing a few of the cousins. We had great food as usual and got plenty of visiting in!

Kirstin and I left the party early and took the kids to the demolition derby over at the County Fair. The kids have never been to one and it's been years since I've seen one. Kasey and Meridee came down and stayed for a week at my parents so the kids were in heaven! They had sleepovers, went to the splash pad, hit the Washington Rec Center to swim, played, ran around and had a great time together.
One night we went miniture golfing and the kids loved it - a bit chaotic but fun!
